Field Trip : Apple Picking

Homestead Farm is one of our favorite spots.
I love getting out of the city...
...and having my kids experience beautiful open spaces,

eat crisp apples right off the tree,

(How exactly do you eat an apple with no front teeth?) ...see farm animals do tricks, and admire farm equipment.
Tomorrow we make apple pie!
and applesauce, apple butter, apple crisp... we picked way too many! : )

  1. Looks like a great day! I posted today about a study on apples that I just wrapped up with my K5 daughter. We had a lot of fun!

  2. So fun! We were planning a trip to Buttler's while we are up there, but maybe we should go to Homestead! Looking forward to seeing you all soon!

  3. What a wonderful day! We were just at a pumpkin patch this last week, too ... tho, our kiddos were in shorts and tshirts, not pants and polar fleece. It's pretty likely that Autumn is more realistic in your neck of the woods! ;-)

  4. Oh man! Wonderful!

My oldest looks a little like yours. He eats everything sideways these day.

    Those are precious pics.

  5. Jennifer, those are lovely pics! We just went to the apple orchard ourselves and had a delightful time... and you're right-- there's just nothing like an apple straight from the tree!
