Weekend Cheerleading : 1000 Gifts

I spent this past weekend cheering on my girl. The last soccer game of the season, dance rehearsals, back to back piano and dance recitals... she smiled through the whole weekend. It is one of motherhood's great joys... being a cheerleader.

With a heart full of gratitude, and a tired girl still sleeping upstairs, my list of gifts goes on...

0394
End of season pizza parties.

0395
Grandparents on the sidelines.

0396
Running through tunnels of arms.

0397
End of season medals.

0398
That red-face, sweaty ponytail, I-gave-it-my-all-smile for the team photo.

0399
Our church family picnic.

0400
Big, inflatable slides.

0401
True community.

0402
Not wanting to have a ballerina bun at the piano recital. And then sitting next to another ballerina... with a bun.

0403
After hours of practicing, those two songs played beautifully.

0404
Proud little brothers.

0405
Being able to go first... and on to the next recital.

0406
Putting make-up on her sweet face.

0407
All the excitement of the dressing room. Fun with a roomful of giggling, costumed girls.

0408
Dance recitals with your best friend.

0409
Bright smiles from the stage.

0410
Will wanting to be the one to give the flowers to our dancer.

0411
And his sweet compliments while we drove home in the dark.

0412
The joy and privilege of being a cheerleader.

holy experience

  1. Loved #408. Reminds me of my eldest girl when she was little, who is soon to become a pastor's wife--this month, in fact! Ah, time flies!

That's definitely something to be thankful for. And true community. Love that one!

  4. Beautiful list! Your pictures are gorgeous. When were you guys at Gordon Conwell? We do live very near there and I actually lived on campus when I was little because my Dad went there, too! I have LOTS of "conwell connections"! :)
