A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse;
from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.
Isaiah 11:1

Putting it together...
At the end of the devotional there are pages to print out so you can make the ornaments. I printed them on natural/cream card stock. After I cut out all the symbols, I took a few inches of grosgrain ribbon and looped it between the card stock symbol and a piece of stiff felt (from a craft store) that I cut to fit. I used a little Elmer's to glue it and then held it together with a clothespin while it dried. I am hoping these will last a long time... I know we will be enjoying the devotionals for many years!
As for the "tree," I just use the same branch that had coffee filter leaves on it a week ago. Perfect!
Oh, yes! We LOVE this one... it truly is a treasure!!
ReplyDeleteHappy December, and best wishes for a delightful weekend (almost :) ahead!
Love Ann, her Jesse Tree devotional, and your creativity. LOVE the way you have stored the ornaments in their little advent calendar pockets before hanging them on the Jesse Tree. Beautiful. God bless!
ReplyDeleteJennifer, I love Ann's Jesse Tree devotional too and wanted to put my ornaments on a quilted tree similar to yours (I'm a quilter!). Did you make the quilt that holds your ornaments? I'd love to find that pattern! Thanks, Denise in GA
ReplyDeleteI made ornaments just like this last night! lol. Very cute! Love the advent calendar you have! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteDenise in GA,
ReplyDeleteOh, to be that talented! No, I didn't make the quilted advent calendar... I bought it from Pottery Barn Kids about 8 years ago. : )
Jennifer
I am so blessed by your creativity! And the devotional of Ann's...doesn't it draw Him near? Or maybe the reverse? I draw near to Him through her words. Advent blessings to you, friend.
ReplyDeleteYou are so clever! I have the Jesse Tree ornaments AND that same advent calendar from PB. I'm going to borrow your great idea and put the ornaments in the calendar pockets. Never even thought of that. : )
ReplyDeleteLovely Jesse Tree! I'm hosting a Jesse Tree link up on my blog, would you like to join?
ReplyDeleteCan someone help me get the link? I cannot open it and I have been trying so hard. I so want to make this! Please, anyone!
ReplyDeleteI know this is an old article, but I'm trying to hunt down the printable for those beautiful Jesse Tree ornaments and can't find them anywhere. Just wondering if you can share the file or know where they can be downloaded now? Thank you!
